Introducing The Technicolor Forest!
I'm super excited to release THE TECHNICOLOR FOREST, a wierd supplement I've been working on for ¡Hipólita!'s Soviet Post-Apocalyptic game RAD.
(And if you're not ready to fully comit to buying a whole new project from me, worry not! There is a FREE PREVIEW you can get which gives a substantial taste of what's inside the book.)
So what is The Technicolor Forest? Well...
The bombs fell in 1990, destroying most of civilisation as we knew it, and leaving a barren, lifeless wasteland behind.
Except... there are rumors.
People in the Metro tell stories around the fire about a forest that sprouted in the wasteland of South-East Moscow. A colorful, fungal forest, unlike anything you've ever seen. It flourishes in the irradiated wasteland, bringing life to the grey wastes, and even threatening to spread into the nearby communities.
Is the Forest dangerous? Sure. But what in the Soviet Wasteland isn't? And the rumors say that the difficulty of traversing the Forest means there is a wealth of old ruins, anomalous shards, and undiscovered creatures that is just begging to be discovered by enterprising and fearless scavengers.
TLDR: I wrote a cool new Post-Apocalyptic Soviet Fungus location, complete with new monsters, factions, anomalous powers, and a ruin to delve into. I called it an Adventure, but it's really more of a big expansion in the vein of Salvager's Isle, but, well, bigger and about a different system.
Oh, or those unfamiliar with RAD, you should absolutely check it out.
It's a survival-based TTRPG inspired by Stalker, The Metro Series, and Fallout. You buy things with bullets, you run through train tunnels, encounter weird mutants, and support your community by giving them resources they need, like ovens, heating, computers, and weapons.
It's also one of the most exciting OSR games that I've read in recent years, since it seems to be taking inspiration from a variety of TTRPGs outside the OSR space.
So, check that out and check out The Technicolor Forest and let me know what you think!
